Tell Your Story in Collage
October 28th [Friday] / 10:30 - 5:00
Instructor: Guest Artist Carol Owen
Class Fee: $80.00
Bring a brownbag lunch for your half hour break.
This class will take the mystery out of collage. Gather up bits and pieces that have meaning to you (sheet music, maps, old letters, photos, etc.) Add rubber stamping ( if you have favorite stamps) and finish with some embellishments that enhance the story. A flat piece of foam board, cut into a simple shape, such as a square, rectangle, or house, will be the base for your collage, and will be designed to hang on the wall.
Supply list: Bring the Basics, plus:
- Two or three acrylic paints
- A couple of brushes
- Sobo glue
- A glue for embellishments. Any of these will work: Weldbond, gel medium,
- tacky glue, or The Ultimate
- Photocopies of any photographs you want to use, old sheet music, letters,
- maps, etc.
- Embellishments such as buttons, beads, charms, etc.
- Stickers
- Any favorite rubber stamps you like to use, and stamp pads.
Note:You will only need a small piece of 3/16" foam board (5" x 7") for this
workshop, so if you're also taking the weekend Shrine workshops, you can use
part of the foam board you need for those classes. If you're only taking the
Collage class, I will provide the foam board (so you don't have to buy a
whole big sheet).
