Hard Cover Coptic Stitch Book
June 6th [Saturday]
6 hours
Instructor: Chrissie Hines
Class Fee: $52.00
The Coptic stitch is one of the oldest bookbinding stitches known. In this class, you will use the ancient single needle Coptic stitch with new clay-coated Stampbord to create this very handsome book. The sample uses linen; however, Chris encourages you to try stitching with leather, which gives a great effect.
If you haven't worked on Stampbord yet, be advised...it is fabulous because of the way it accepts color, and you will fall in love with this new surface. We will take time to play with Stampbord chips before creating your covers.
After coloring your covers with inks and watercolors (Twinkling H2Os, Doc Martins, watercolor pencils), you will emboss your design and then scratch and color for a fabulous look. If you like the look of the "clear sticker" leaf, Chris will show you how to achieve that effect.

Stampbord tools, if you own any
Versamark pen, Versamark pad
