Intro to Sawing 101
March 20th [Saturday]
3 hours
Instructor: Guest Artist Cheryl Darrow, TENseconds Studio
Class fee: $78
Like the title suggests, you will learn how to use a jeweler's saw in a variety of mediums. Learn the basics of sawing shapes (anyone for hearts?) out of 18g. copper metal, light wood, and acrylic. Armed with this knowledge, you'll be on your way to creating your own unique shapes out of these materials and take your "art" to the next level. We will have all the necessary supplies to use and for sale at the class, and you will go home with your own saw and blade. This class will show you how to step outside the box (or even make your own box). We will de-mystify hard surfaces and turn them into creative shapes that can then be metalized with 40g metals.)
Please note that this is a technique class, the purpose of which is the actual sawing execution; however, the samples here show what you could make.
